Fire Station 9
The new Fire Station 9 replaces the former station on Cedar Street. By consolidating and redeveloping the site, the new station offers expanded capabilities, modernized equipment bays, and updated safety systems. Its strategic location improves coverage and reduces response times across the city.

Fire Station 2
Located on North Grand River Avenue, Fire Station 2 is being completely rebuilt rather than renovated. This approach provides the department with a flexible, future-proof facility designed for maximum efficiency. The new building supports today’s needs while allowing adaptability for growth and evolving public safety requirements.

Fire Training Center
The new Fire Training Center, part of the consolidated Public Safety campus on South Washington Avenue, will serve as a state-of-the-art hub for professional development. It will provide hands-on training for existing and future Lansing Fire Department personnel, as well as regional training opportunities for neighboring departments. The facility will feature multiple training bays, modern classrooms, and a fully operational fire station to integrate real-world scenarios into daily training.

Station 8 & 1
Both Fire Station 1 and Fire Station 8 will undergo renovations that bring the facilities up to modern building codes, enhance safety, and improve working conditions for firefighters. These upgrades extend the useful life of the buildings while providing a safe and functional environment for fire personnel.

Consolidated Public Safety Building
The Consolidated Public Safety Building will house the Fire Department’s executive offices and the City’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC). This facility will centralize leadership, planning, and emergency coordination in one secure, modern environment, ensuring Lansing is prepared for large-scale incidents and disasters.
